March
5, 2001
In
just a little over one month, we will be into the Spring Festival season.
The New Testament Passover will be observed on Friday night, April 6,
2001. We would like to offer two
special sermons to enrich your festival season.
This subject is often taken for granted but when you understand you will
appreciate Christ’s sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins.
Later in this letter we will tell you the name of this unusual subject.
THE TELEVISION
PROGRAMS
We
just completed NINE half-hour television programs!! Frankly, I was a little discouraged through the first three.
In them, I was sitting somewhat cramped at a little coffee table.
I had to concentrate on the message and at the same time on the cameras,
moving my head and upper body to face the one that was one me. That interrupted my subject and slowed momentum.
My
wife, Molly, and Faye Wannlund (both of whom are in integral part of the
telecast) finally encouraged me to do the programs standing up like I do when I
speak at church. I felt more at
ease with this. We are far from perfect, but the TV studio says we are doing
great!
Since
we went to a different format, the programs have been much better and I have
been much more at ease. I can even
smile at the audience from time to time.!!
The
recent subject matter has been on two major issues: 1) need for wisdom and 2) need for self-control.
In the last programs I have shown how to build self-control through
observing the laws of God.
God is the Ruler of the universe and He set man to “have dominion”
over all the earth and its creatures. But,
how can humans achieve dominion when they are out of control?
God gave humans His laws by which we can govern ourselves and obtain
self-control!
I
believe this approach will introduce people to the holy, spiritual, righteous,
and good laws of God in a most practical and acceptable way.
People who lack self-control and self-discipline commit most crimes.
Most prisoners are behind bars because of their lack of self-control and
discipline.
Many
of you have requested a videotape that would play on your home VCR We will have
the latest programs duplicated as soon as possible. One of the main purposes of making these telecasts is to
provide small groups with a VCR version to be played on Sabbath.
We have many requests and will be sending out more than 100 this month.
It will be a strain financially as the cost of duplication, padded
envelopes and extra postage is rather large.
Therefore we are asking that you request these tapes only if you will be
able to share with several others.
We
are very encouraged to have so many of you interested in getting this program on
in your local area. We will make
the large ¾ inch videos available as we can afford to do so for the widest
possible audience.
Making
television is a very time consuming proposition. It usually takes us 5 hours to record two programs.
In that time I could do about seven half-hour radio programs!
TWO FREE
SERMONS
Have
you ever heard of the doctrine of “Imputation”?
To understand it fully is to really understand what we celebrate when we
take the Bread and Wine at the New Testament Passover.
This subject is vaguely understood by most, but in these two sermons it
will come alive. If you follow
along in your Bible you will understand the depth of God’s love like never
before.
We
want you to have these two sermons on IMPUTATION
in time for the Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread.
Please write us as soon as possible so that we can have them on their way
to you. Our desire is that they
will help make this Passover season your very best one ever!
By
the time you receive this letter, we will have seen some of you in Phoenix,
Arizona for a Christian Renewal Conference, which is scheduled for the weekend
of March 17th.
Following
the Spring Festival, we will be on our way to Birmingham, Alabama, for a
speaking engagement there on April 21, 2001.
We look forward to that visit and the fellowship of many at the gracious
invitation of Ray and Peggy Wooten.
Until
next time, we wish you every joyous blessing in Christ and that you may be
filled with all the fullness of the Father and His Son.
Thanks
again to all of you who of your own free will support the work of Guardian
Ministries.
With
love in Christ,
David
